Week 20 (for 2 people)

SUNDAY, MAY 15, 2016

FOOD STORAGE:
To pick it up locally, one case will cost you $24.
You can order your case on the "Items of the Month" form passed out at church and through email.

CAR KIT:
Sand or *kitty litter, ground cloth - carpet or plastic sheeting

*Kitty litter for melting ice and snow

Did you know that of the 11 essential items to keep in your winter car kit, kitty litter is one of the top 3? If you find yourself stuck in snowy slush, non-clumping cat litter can be a lifesaver (or at least a timesaver). Pour it in the path of your wheels to help get traction.
And, as anyone who’s ever lifted a bag of cat litter knows, it’s really heavy, so if you keep it in the trunk, it’ll add weight to the rear of your vehicle, which can also improve traction.

FAMILY PREPAREDNESS:
Prepare to plant a garden, if possible. Work organic material into your soil. Now is a good time to plant beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, corn, kale, lettuce, onion sets, spinach, radishes and turnips. Only a few more weeks and it will be time to plant tomatoes!

SPIRITUAL PREPAREDNESS:
"There is a real sifting going on in the Church, and it is going to become more pronounced with the passing of time. It will sift the wheat from the tares, because we face some difficult days, the like of which we have never experienced in our lives. And those days are going to require faith and testimony and family unity, the like of which we have never had. We must prepare for the great day of the Lord. This preparation must consist of more than just casual membership in the Church. We must be guided by personal revelation and the counsel of the living prophet so that we will not be deceived." The Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson, 1988, page 107)
