Week 22 (for 2 people)

Sunday, May 29th 2016

Food Storage:
8 cans of vegetables (rotating)
1 case of Sugar (Six #10 cans/33.6 lbs.)
If you can pick it up at your local Home Storage, it will cost you $31.50.
If you need it shipped, go here: Provident Living Sugar

CAR KIT:
A small quantity of food and water that could survive freezing and hot temperatures without damage or spoiling.

FAMILY PREPAREDNESS:
Be sure everyone knows how to use your fire extinguisher(s) and where they are kept.

Manufacturers say most extinguishers should work for 5 to 15 years, but you might not know if you got yours three years ago or 13. So how can you be sure it will fire away? Atlanta fire chief Dennis L. Rubin recommends checking the pressure gauge monthly. “If the needle is in the green area, it’s functional,” he says. If it falls anywhere else, the extinguisher is unreliable and should be serviced or replaced. For an older model without a gauge, have it checked by a pro. He also recommends annual servicing for all models. To find companies that refill and service extinguishers, check the Yellow Pages under “fire extinguishers.”

SPIRITUAL PREPAREDNESS:
"No other activities should involve our family members on Monday night. This designated time is to be with our families." -Elder L. Tom Perry, Ensign, May 2003

Family Home Evening doesn't have to be elaborate or take a long time to plan. You do not need to have children in your home to "qualify". Make a goal to hold FHE weekly.
