8 cans of soup
1 case wheat

Red wheat is slightly less expensive than white wheat.
If you can pick it up locally, you'll pay $19.50 for a case of red wheat, $21 for white wheat.

Here is an easy “survival” (and delicious) bread recipe that uses only 4 ingredients and a Dutch oven. Because the rise time is so long, you can mix up the dough before bed and bake in the morning, then mix more dough in the morning, to have at dinner. And it can be cooked in a fire pit, with coals, etc. I made a loaf in our tent oven and it was perfect!

Dutch Oven Overnight Bread

3 cups white flour (or 2.75 c whole wheat flour)

1.5 cups very warm water

1 teaspoons yeast

1 teaspoons salt

Directions:

Mix dry ingredients together then add the water and mix. This will make a very "rough"-looking dough. Cover it tightly for 6-18 hours. The longer you let it rise, the fluffier the loaf. When it's time to bake it, preheat your oven with your Dutch oven inside, lid on. I usually add about a teaspoon of coconut oil to melt in the bottom. After it's preheated, (or at least fifteen minutes), spread ¼ c flour on a clean surface, then use a “bowl scraper” or roll your dough in flour and form ball, then put in Dutch oven. Bake with lid on about 25 minutes, then remove lid for another 5-10 so it turns golden on top. Remove from oven, cool, and eat. It's so easy! You can add cranberries /cinnamon/sugar/orange zest, or add pepper jack and jalapenos...The possibilities are endless! Also easy to double, or to use fresh ground wheat – although this will make a denser loaf.

Extra Item:
 2 months of laundry soap

Family Preparedness:
For family home evening, study President Uchtdorf's talk from the General Women's broadcast, "Fourth Floor, Last Door." Show your family the clip of his talk, toward the end, where he talks about the missionaries who kept going to the "fourth floor, last door." Discuss how faith and endurance can positively affect others.

Spiritual Preparedness:
"In these latter days, we know there will be earthquakes in diverse places. Perhaps one of those diverse places will be in our own homes, where emotional, financial, or spiritual 'earthquakes' may occur. Priesthood power can calm the seas and heal fractures in the earth. Priesthood power can also calm the minds and heal fractures in the hearts of those we love." (Russell M. Nelson, "The Price of Priesthood Power," April 2016 General Conference)
