Week 36 (for two people)
Food Storage:
8 cans of soup
For local pick up - 1 case will cost
you $36
You can order your case on the "Items
of the Month" form passed out at church. There are 12 pouches in a case, and
each pouch will make you about 2 gallons of milk. Meaning each gallon
of milk will end up costing you about $1.50! If you are mixing up
individual portions, then 3 Tbsp mixed with 8 ounces of water will
give you a full cup. To decrease the "chunky milk" issue,
simply mix it WELL. I recommend using a "Blender Bottle"
available at many different retailers.
Extra Item:
2 months of laundry soap
Family Gear Box:
Assemble an activity box with games, cards,
and other favorite toys.
Family Preparedness:
Arrange for someone to help your
children if you are at work and not able to return home during a
disaster. I have put together a small emergency kit that my children
have at their school. Stay tuned for upcoming info on information
about making these for your own children.
Spiritual Preparedness:
Here is an excerpt:
“This generation stands at the end of the sixth “day” of the
earth’s history (see D&C 77:6–7, 12; Abraham
3:4;2 Peter 3:8). Now is the “Saturday evening” of time
preceding the great millennial Sabbath of the earth (see McConkie,
Doctrinal New Testament Commentary, 3:485–86; Smith, Teachings,
p. 13). It is for this generation to prepare the way for the
Second Coming of the Lord. Modern Saints must obey the principles of
the gospel and know the signs of the times, so that they may endure
the trials and difficulties of this dispensation, recognize the signs
of His coming, and be prepared to receive Him as His own people when
He comes.“
