Week 10 (for 2 people)

Week 10

FOOD STORAGE:
8 cans of soup
1 case Powdered Milk (click for online ordering)
For local pick up - 1 case will cost you $36
You can order your case on the "Items of the Month" form passed out at church and through email. Simply write me a check for the amount, and I'll purchase it for you and deliver it to your home!
There are 12 pouches in a case, and each pouch will make you about 2 gallons of milk. Meaning each gallon of milk will end up costing you about $1.50! If you are mixing up individual portions, then 3 Tbsp mixed with 8 ounces of water will give you a full cup. To decrease the "chunky milk" issue, simply mix it WELL.
I recommend this - (click the links in purple):
Amazon carries the "Blender Bottle". Bed Bath & Beyond have them as well, and if you use a 20% off coupon, they are really affordable! Each member of our family has their own in our emergency supplies. After mixing your individual portion of milk, take out the metal whisk that blends everything, and dump your cereal right in the cup! The church uses a new "spray process" which makes this milk taste amazingly better than the old stuff! I am extremely picky about the taste of milk, and this tastes like regular old non-fat to me!

EXTRA ITEM:
2 months of laundry soap

72 HOUR KIT:
Individual needs: Personal prescribed medication; extra glasses, sunglasses, contacts and supplies; hearing aid batteries. Place your individual needs in your kit. If it can't be in your kit (refrigeration, etc.) keep it ready to go! Adjust your 72-hour kits for infants, children and the elderly with any special needs.

FAMILY PREPAREDNESS:

Learn how and teach all family members how to turn off the natural gas or propane tank, water, and power to the house.

SPIRITUAL PREPAREDNESS:

Read "This Day" by Henry B. Eyring, Ensign May 2007, p. 89

"By serving Him this day, you will come to know Him better. You will feel His love and appreciation. You would not want to delay receiving that blessing. And feeling His love will draw you back to His service, wiping away both complacency and discouragement."
